Project Erasmus +, 1.-6.11.21, Gdynia (Poland)
Entrepreneurial teenager on an ecological career path
On Tuesday the project started around 9:00 am at the partner school „Zespół Szkół Administracyjno – Ekonomicznych“, where fellow students from Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Germany and of course Poland came together. The Polish students had not only prepared presentations about Poland including the sights, national dishes and famous people, but also small games to get to know each other better and to get used to speaking English.
After the first section we all went to Gdansk by train. A guide offered us a very interesting tour despite the bad weather conditions. Our way led us from to the city center and the St. Mary’s Church and then on to the European Solidarity Center, where we played small games on the topic of solidarity. Our tour ended there.
Wednesday began at the technology center in Gdynia with a workshop on teamwork, in which we practiced concentration and mindfulness in a playful way. The Spanish students then presented their presentation on the topic of „How to build a business“, in which we were given the task of developing a logo and a marketing strategy and then presenting them to the others. We then made a short trip to Gdynia harbour and beach.
Thursday, we met again at the technology center and this time the German students started with a presentation on the subject of professional competences. We set the task of writing a „Letter to myself“ in 5 years, in which the students wrote down their expectations and wishes for the next few years.
Then the Italian students, who unfortunately could not be there in person, were connected to us via video conference, as well as a HR representative from Commerzbank Poland, who told us something about the recruitment process in that company. The Polish students then held their presentation about Poland again for the Italian students and also showed us a presentation about the Tri-City (Gdynia, Sopot, Gdansk).
After that the German students made everyone do an online quiz which is very helpful for finding a profession based on your interests and talents. This was a good transition, because Bulgaria then gave a presentation on the subject of professions. We had the task of developing and then presenting a product for a specific person with a specific occupational group, age and hobbies.
After that we were led to the coworking area of the technology center, where start-ups can rent office space for very little money (€ 0.50 / hour) and work there as long as they want. The pleasant atmosphere and nice coworking staff is included.
Then we went to Sopot by train. Despite the very rainy weather, it was a nice trip to the jetty, which extends 511.50 meters into the Baltic Sea. We decided to warm ourselfes up in the Crooked House with some hot drinks before returning to Gdynia.
On Friday we got picked up by bus at our hotel. With the bus we did a trip to Marlbok to see the castle there. On our way to Marbok we had a stop in Gdansk to visit the talent development center. First, we listened to a presentation about this center. Afterwards we split up in groups and played some teambuilding games. After this stop in Gdansk we went on to Marbok. Once there, a guide showed us the castle and explained us interesting things about this place. For example, this castle is the biggest one in the world made out of bricks. After the tour we had lunch inside the castle.
Saturday was our last day in Poland. In the morning we got picked up by Polish students and we went to their school. There we heard the last presentation of our trip. It was held by the Portuguese group. Their performance summed up the journey and was a beautiful conclusion to the journey. After that we got guided through the school to get an impression of it. After that we had to say goodbye to the other groups.
